Former Simdega Bishop Joseph Minj dies at 85

He was a priest for 58 years and a Bishop for 24 years.

 
Bangalore: 

Former Bishop Joseph Minj of Simdega in Jharkhand died Aug. 16 at a Church-run medical facility Simdega. He was 85.


The funeral is scheduled for Aug. 17 at St. Anne Cathedral, Samtoli, Simdega.

Bishop Joseph Minj was born on 17 October, 1932 and was ordained priest on 10 July, 1960.


He was appointed as the Bishop of Simdega on 28 May, 1993 and ordained Bishop on 24 August, 1993.


He was retired from his active Episcopal ministry on 11 February, 2008 at the age of 75. He is a priest for 58 years and a Bishop for 24 years.
